Justin Theroux is starring in the upcoming Apple TV+ series The Mosquito Coast and he actually has a special connection to the source material!
The 49-year-old actor is the nephew of Paul Theroux, who wrote the 1981 novel!
The Mosquito Coast is a “gripping adventure and layered character drama following the dangerous journey of a radical idealist and brilliant inventor, Allie Fox (Theroux), who uproots his family for Mexico when they suddenly find themselves on the run from the US government.”
Also starring in the seven-episode series are Melissa George and Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman as their kids.
“I have a long history with the novel in that I read it as a kid, and this was one of those happy accidents where the stars aligned for me to do it,” Justin told Deadline. “This is Allie seen through a different prism… you’ll see the evolution of this character is subsequent episodes. I responded to the few initial scripts.”
The first two episodes premiere on Apple TV+ on April 30 and new episodes debut each Friday after that. Watch the teaser trailer below!
