President Donald Trump is now calling for his supporters to “stay peaceful” after fanning the flames of protest for weeks regarding the election.
The 74-year-old President of the United States took to Twitter on Tuesday (January 6) to issue a statement as his supporters storm the U.S. Capitol building, resulting in a lockdown and barricading of doors.
“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!” he wrote.
The U.S. Capitol locked down with lawmakers inside as violent fights broke out between supporters of President Donald Trump and police. The protesters tore down the metal barricades at the Capitol’s steps, and officers have since been seen firing pepper spray into the crowd.
It was recently revealed Trump attempted to pressure a top Georgia election official into “finding” extra votes.
Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!
