NFC East teams should be lining up for Sam Darnold’s quarterbacking services this offseason.
With the New York Jets potentially moving off quarterback Sam Darnold, this one stat will blow your mind, leaving teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Football Team rushing to trade for him.
Despite a 13-25 record under center for Gang Green in three seasons, none of those 25 losses has come against an NFC East team. In fact, Darnold is 3-0 in his career vs. the NFC East. He has defeated the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants and Washington before. However, he has never faced the Eagles, as he was still recovering from mononucleosis at the time of their 2019 meeting.
Sam Darnold is UNDEFEATED v the NFC East

Washington is infinitely more likely to trade for Sam Darnold than Philadelphia
While Philadelphia and Washington have more questions than answers at the quarterback position, the Eagles are probably going to roll with second-year pro Jalen Hurts, at least initially. As for Washington, this football team does not have a long-term answer at the position. Given that Washington was a playoff team a season ago, why would it not consider trading for Darnold?
Washington has the No. 19 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. While that could be where SEC stars like Mac Jones or maybe even Kyle Trask come off the board, four quarterbacks are going in the top 10 and Washington will not land any of them. Though Washington may also be interested in Las Vegas Raiders backup Marcus Mariota, you cannot deny Darnold’s unblemished NFC East record.
Washington is a potentially great landing spot for Darnold, who is in need of a second NFL home.
