Shia LaBeouf was reportedly being eyed for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of all of the recent controversy.
A new report in Variety this week said that “Marvel was even eying LaBeouf for a superhero role” following the success of the actor’s movie Honey Boy.
Initial reports about Marvel’s interest surfaced over the summer and “at the time, insiders told Variety that there was initial interest, but a meeting never took place and discussions never ensued.”
Shia was actually approached for a role in the DC Comics superhero movie Suicide Squad, but he said in an interview that Warner Bros. wasn’t interested in hiring him.
“I went in to meet, and they were like, ‘Nah, you’re crazy. You’re a good actor, but not this one.’ It was a big investment for them,” he said back in 2016.
In the meantime, Shia is spending a lot of time with his new famous girlfriend.
