Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll can’t believe his team lost to the Rams.
The Seattle Seahawks went 12-4 during the regular season were fighting for the No. 1 seed in the NFC up until the end. Now they are going home after losing to an injured Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams.
Russell Wilson looked terrible, the defense couldn’t stop Cam Akers and the Seahawks lost the turnover battle 2-0. Pete Carroll spoke with the media following the loss, and the reality of the situation seemed to be tough for him to grasp.
"So it's really frustrating to be done. The suddenness of this is, there's nothing like it. And you just have to deal with it. And so that's what we're gonna do." https://t.co/wMAIuidMfB

Carroll caught looking ahead
It has to be demoralizing for the players to hear their coach so defeated following the loss. However, he was just being honest in the moment.
The Seahawks have now won at least 10 games in each of the past three seasons, only to fail to advance beyond the NFC Divisional round in each postseason. The team was last in the Super Bowl during the 2014 season and has not been to the NFC Championship Game since.
This is a franchise with title aspirations as long as Wilson is under center. But he was outplayed by an injured Goff and the glory days of him and Carroll may be long past.
Carroll being confident is one thing. Him totally being flabbergasted and not making in-game adjustments against a team he played several weeks ago is going to have fans wondering if a change in leadership is needed.
Carroll and the Seahawks were on top of the world after winning the Super Bowl to close out the 2014 season. The team reached the mountaintop again one year later, only to choke in historic fashion and lose in the final moments. The team hasn’t been the same since.
Carroll has been in Seattle since 2010. Based on his demeanor after this latest playoff exit, the front office may want to inject new life onto the sidelines while Wilson is still getting paid a large fortune.
