The Miami Dolphins and head coach Brian Flores won’t have Ryan Fitzpatrick available on Sunday due to him testing positive for the coronavirus.
Unfortunate news has arrived for the Miami Dolphins, as fan-favorite quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has tested positive for the coronavirus. Because of this, Fitzpatrick is now away from the team and is isolating so he doesn’t spread things.
This of course means that the veteran signal-caller will not be able to take the field on Sunday when Miami takes on the Buffalo Bills. While Tua Tagovailoa will get the start, there was still the possibility we could have seen Fitzpatrick enter late. Now, that won’t be an option.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Sunday’s game
Whenever Tagovailoa has struggled this year, we’ve seen Fitzpatrick enter the field as Miami’s “relief pitcher” of sorts for the offense. Fitzpatrick, who began the year as the starter, has delivered for his team time and time again.
That was surely the case in the Week 16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Fitzpatrick put on a show in the last-second victory, powering Miami to a thrilling 26-25 win over Jon Gruden and the Raiders. In the win, Fitzpatrick entered in the second half and went on to throw for 182 yards and one touchdown.
On the game-winning drive, he delivered one of the best “no-look” passes you’ll ever see, which even landed him some praise from Patrick Mahomes and so many others. For now, Fitzpatrick will rest up and hope that he’s able to recover from the coronavirus as soon as possible.
With Miami on the cusp of heading to the postseason, Dolphins fans will surely want the quarterback ready to go for some big games in January if his number is to be called.
