Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap revealed that Russell Wilson informed him that the quarterback won’t be going anywhere.
For what has felt like an eternity, Seattle Seahawks fans have been waiting to see what the future has in store for quarterback Russell Wilson. Due to his ongoing beef with the front office, trade rumors continues to surround the signal-caller. However, it doesn’t look like he’ll be leaving town.
While speaking with the Seattle media on Tuesday, defensive end Carlos Dunlap came out and said he spoke with Wilson before he decided to re-sign with the team. In his conversation with him, Dunlap said Wilson told him he’ll be staying in Seattle.
#Seahawks DE Carlos Dunlap said on a video call with reporters that he asked Russell Wilson if he would be back with Seattle and was told, "I'm here to stay. Go Hawks!"
That helped him make the decision to re-sign in Seattle.

Russell Wilson appears all set to suit up for the Seattle Seahawks this fall
Finally, some good news for the Seattle faithful regarding the team’s franchise quarterback. As it looks, Dunlap wasn’t sure if he wanted to return to the Hawks, but the fact that Wilson gave him his word that he’d be with the team next season played a role in his decision.
Again, Wilson and the front office have had their problems, but the quarterback has been supportive of the team’s moves in free agency on social media. This includes Seattle re-signing Chris Carson. Oh, Wilson was also fired up when it was announced Seattle had agreed to a monster extension with stud wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
Looking ahead to the 2021 campaign, Seattle is hoping to wipe away the rough memories of 2020, a season in which the team suffered a rough loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round. Next season, Wilson, Dunlap and the rest of the group will be ready to rock and potentially go on a deep playoffs run.
