Red Sox fans are already losing their minds on Twitter three games into the 2021 season.
The Boston Red Sox are having a nightmare start to the 2021 season. First came a postponement that delayed the actual start of the year. Three straight losses to the Baltimore Orioles have followed.
The Red Sox offense combined to score two runs in the first two losses and Easter Sunday was time for a fresh start. Fans around Boston could sit back, relax, and try to take in some winning baseball. Then the game started.
The Orioles scored three runs in the first and added seven more in the third for an early 10-0 lead. Hopefully, the egg hunts continued as scheduled. Twitter, meanwhile, displayed the breakdown in its full glory.

Red Sox fans try to cope with another awful game
Red Sox fans always have high expectations and the Orioles were supposed to be an easy opening opponent. So much for that.

Will the Red Sox win a game before the pandemic is over?

An 11-3 loss against the Orioles to end the season-opening series was not the Easter miracle fans were hoping for. But it is still incredibly early and an 0-3 start is not some doomsday scenario. That still won’t stop the overreactions.

This is not some tortured franchise. Boston won the World Series in 2018 and got Alex Cora back this season after he served his suspension for cheating in Houston. The problem is that they are in some sort of half-rebuild where top talent is being let go and succeeding elsewhere. Could the owners really not afford Mookie Betts?

The Red Sox are back in action Monday when they welcome the Tampa Bay Rays to town for a three-game series. After that is a series in Baltimore. If the Red Sox get swept again, the fan base may actually revolt before the team travels to Maryland.

Apparently, this is all LeBron’s fault.
