The Rams remain hopeful Aaron Donald can return next weekend after leaving Saturday’s game with a rib injury.
The Los Angeles Rams pulled off the huge upset Saturday over Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Jared Goff played while recovering from thumb surgery, Cooper Kupp left with an injury late, and Aaron Donald missed the second half with a rib injury. So it was not as smooth as the final score would indicate.
Getting Donald back is a key concern for the Rams considering he is one of the most elite players in all of football. The latest report reveals the Rams are hopeful he can return, while MRI results are still coming.
#Rams hopeful Aaron Donald will be able to go next week. Sean McVay says “never bet against AD.”
Addendum: I forgot to mention MRI coming today but no break detected yesterday. Good sign. https://t.co/d5nJ1lNpLX

Rams optimistic about Donald
The star defender sacked Wilson twice in the game before leaving. He was actually injured on a play when he tackled the quarterback, but Wilson rolled over on top of Donald’s ribs. Not detecting any break, and saying Donald could have returned, is a good sign at this point.
Donald has made the Pro Bowl in every season of his career and was just named a first-team All-Pro for the sixth time. It would also be shocking if he held himself out next week given his durability throughout his career. He can rest during the week and even be on a limited snap count if necessary.
The Rams are still waiting to see who they will play next weekend. But the first order of business is figuring out all the injuries. Head coach Sean McVay has to figure out if he will go with Goff or go back to John Wolford, who left Saturday’s game but was deemed to have avoided any serious injury.
Donald and the Rams made the Seahawks look like frauds. Now fans will want to see what Donald can do in a full game next week in the Divisional Round.
