Several NFL stars expressed their concerns on Twitter about Alabama receiver Jaylen Waddle playing Monday night against Ohio State.
The Alabama offense suffered a huge loss back in October when dynamic receiver Jaylen Waddle broke his ankle. There was talk of him returning Monday night for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Ohio State and he did just that.
Waddle had 557 receiving yards in four games before his injury and is undoubtedly an elite talent. But he doesn’t look completely right early in the game and some NFL stars, including Patrick Mahomes, are second-guessing the decision to have the receiver on the field at all.

Mahomes and others looking out for Waddle
Mahomes is joined by Darius Leonard, Dez Bryant, and AJ Brown as they are all trying to look out for Waddle’s best interests. The last thing he wants to do is suffer a serious injury if his ankle is not fully healed.
Someone like Mahomes knows the importance of showing off in college, but also staying healthy. He got his own monster payday and Waddle is set up for one rather soon. But playing on a serious ankle injury could only make matters worse for the future first-round pick.
Waddle has an entire NFL career to look forward to. If he’s smart, he’ll test it out, but perhaps not go overboard in what’s expected to be his final collegiate game.
