After upsetting Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, the Ohio State football Twitter account showed no mercy trolling the Tigers and Dabo Swinney.
It was apparent that the Ohio State Buckeyes felt disrespected going into their national semi-final game against the Clemson Tigers. Whether it be the heartbreaking defeat from the previous year or the comments made by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, it was clear there was going to be motivation.
Following their upset victory and a ticket to Miami, the Buckeyes headed to social media to capitalize on their achievement.
Doubt the Ohio State Buckeyes at your own risk
Make no mistake about it, Ohio State will be an underdog against the behemoth of college football, Alabama. Additionally, given how the Crimson Tide has two potential prospects for the Heisman Trophy, it’s another fuel source.
The notion that the Buckeyes did not deserve to be in the College Football Playoff is the biggest source of motivation. There will be the talk of how the Buckeyes don’t have a chance at winning with Alabama looming. And finally, the status of Justin Fields. While he performed admirably in the face of injury, his health will be on the minds of all college football fans, knowing that his presence is paramount for Ohio State’s chances of standing at center field with the trophy in their hands.
However, if anything is to be learned from what just transpired and what has already occurred, it is that you can doubt Ohio State all you want, but be prepared for the clap back. Just ask Clemson. Or you can ask Ohio State about what took place in the Sugar Bowl the last time they faced Alabama in the playoffs.
