Nick Saban was so fiery on the sidelines he drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the final minutes of a blowout victory for Alabama over Notre Dame.
Why is Nick Saban the greatest? He demands excellence from everyone around him at all times.
Even when Alabama is up by 24 points and cruising to a College Football Playoff semifinal victory over Notre Dame.
The Crimson Tide head coach absolutely lost his cool late in the fourth quarter, drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

It’s not even clear if Saban was even yelling at a ref. He could have just as easily been unloading on one of his players. Whatever he said, he did it with a force that unsettled the man in stripes.
Nick Saban demands perfection even at the end of a blowout
That may be the first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in Saban’s long and fruitful career, but he should wear it like a badge of honor. It’s a sign of who he is and what makes him so successful.
Who cares if his team was trouncing Notre Dame 31-7 at the time. He still acts like those final minutes were for all the marbles.
Notre Dame went on to score a touchdown in the final minute of the game to make it 31-14. Does anyone doubt Saban was absolutely furious about that one?
