It’s been announced that multiple Houston Texans players have been fined after they attended the grand opening of Deshaun Watson’s restaurant.
In what’s been a miserable season for the Houston Texans, some off-the-field drama has arrived for the team in what fits in perfectly with 2020 as a whole.
Last week, superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson celebrated the grand opening of his new restaurant franchise. In a show of support, multiple Houston Texans players decided to attend the event. The only problem is that the players on hand were photographed not social distancing or wearing masks to protect them from COVID-19. Because of this, those on hand have been fined by the team.

Players who attended Deshaun Watson’s restaurant opening have been fined
As you can see in the photo above, none of the players were wearing masks for the photo op. Per NFL rules, players are not allowed to gather in groups more than three outside of the team facility. That number was surely violated for Watson’s restaurant opening.
The NFL and the Texans are clearly taking the COVID-19 rules seriously, which is why the players for Houston are now facing consequences. Throughout the campaign, fans have seen loads of players miss games after testing positive.
Over in Washington, quarterback Dwayne Haskins is facing some serious consequences himself after a photo emerged of him partying at a strip club without a mask on after the team’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.
While the amount of the fines for the Houston players haven’t been revealed, we’ll see if it’s enough to make the players realize they shouldn’t be gathering in large groups in the middle of this horrific coronavirus pandemic. Next up for the Texans will be a Week 16 showdown with the Bengals.
