I can’t ride roller coasters, sit in back seats on long road trips, or go on cruises! The motion sickness is REAL with me. Like many gay millennials, my Lizzie McGuire obsession in middle school was off the rails. I got an autograph from Hilary Duff one time and lost. my. mind. I spent Christmas Eve 1999 in the emergency room after splitting open my thumb and needing stitches. Kids, be careful playing with breakable plastic brooms in freezing cold weather. “The Sky Blues” is my queer-themed, young-adult rom-com debut! Its themes and characters are so near and dear to my heart. I am excited, nervous, overjoyed, and FEELING ALL OF THE FEELS getting it out into the world. I’ve lived in every time zone in the continental U.S., calling Michigan, New York, Chicago, Denver, and now Los Angeles home at one point or another.

Both my parents were public school teachers. So were several other family members and close friends. Go hug a teacher (when it’s safe to do so post-pandemic)! I have three little nephews who live in Michigan. They love dinosaurs, forklifts, and making weird faces while FaceTiming. They mean the world to me. I am a night owl to my core. My right brain thrives once the sun goes down, needing the darkness and calm to actually wake up. I’m finishing up my second book now, and if you enjoyed the film Legally Blonde, I think you’ll really love the story. I’ll leave it at that! Pasta. I’m obsessed with it. I dream about it. It is everything. My top three favorite noodle shapes are bucatini, fettucine, and rigatoni. Just typing this has inspired me to make pasta later tonight.
