The 39-year-old Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in all black while attending the funeral of her grandfather-in-law on Saturday (April 17) at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.
The necklace and earrings that Kate wore to the ceremony have special meaning to the royal family.

The necklace that Kate wore is the Queen’s Four Row Japanese Pearl Choker, which was previously worn by Princess Diana back in 1982 during a visit to the Netherlands.
Kate also has worn the necklace in the past. She wore it in 2017 while attending Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip‘s 70th wedding anniversary party.
The earrings that Kate wore are the Queen’s Bahrain Pearl Earrings and she previously wore them at a Remembrance Day service in 2016, one year after the Queen herself wore them at the same event.
The earrings were made from pearls that were gifted to the Queen for her 1947 wedding to Philip. People reports that the “earrings contain a large round diamond with a smaller circle diamond hanging below it. Three baguette diamonds hang from there, with three more small diamonds making way to the dangling pearl.”
