If you get the ball into Jaylen Waddle’s hands, good things are bound to happen.
With Jaylen Waddle expected to be a top-tier first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, let’s take a look at some of his incredible highlights coming out of Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas.
For years at Alabama, Waddle was a human joystick when it came to making would-be tacklers miss. If you want to know where he got those moves from, just look at his high school highlights. Not only was he a great receiving talent in high school, but he had no problem running the offense from the quarterback position in the Wildcat. He was a human cheat code and it wasn’t fair then.
These highlights are a big reason why Nick Saban brought him to Alabama.
Alabama receiver Jaylen Waddle will make any NFL team better upon arrival
Even though he will be the fourth Alabama wide receiver taken in the first round in the last two NFL Drafts, Waddle perhaps has the highest upside of the quartet. Not only can he do a little bit of everything in the passing game, but his elusiveness and breakaway speed could make him a perennial Pro Bowler if he goes to the right offensive system. His talent is too good to be wasted.
So what teams could be looking to take Waddle in next week’s draft? Waddle could go as high as No. 5 to the Cincinnati Bengals, but probably no lower than the Philadelphia Eagles picking at No. 12. He would look really good in Detroit Lions’ Honolulu blue and silver, Carolina Panthers’ black and blue or in the blue and red of the New York Football Giants. Simply put, he will have suitors.
Maybe the team that drafts Waddle will employ the Wildcat with him in the ‘gun once or twice?
