Jalen Suggs was not only a star for Gonzaga basketball against UCLA, but he had memorable moments on the gridiron.
Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs will be forever known for his game-winner against UCLA, but it should be noted that he had skills on the gridiron before coming west. Suggs was a star in Minnesota as a high school quarterback and had offers from various big-name programs, including Georgia and Ohio State.

Suggs also has a bit of NFL blood in him as the second cousin of Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champion Terrell Suggs. Ultimately, Suggs chose to pursue basketball and became the highest recruit to sign with the Bulldogs in their history. As a freshman, he helped Gonzaga win the WCC Conference and make another national championship appearance thanks to his late game-heroics in overtime against the Bruins.

Suggs now has an opportunity to increase his legacy when Gonzaga squares off against Baylor in the National Championship.
Jalen Suggs is a very versatile athlete and would have been a star in either sport.
Though we all wonder what Jalen Suggs could have been if he chose to play football, we all know how he plays in basketball. Against UCLA, the Bulldogs were tested throughout the game until the winning moment. Suggs finished with 16 points as the third-highest scorer on the team, but the collaborative effort from him, Drew Timme, and Joel Ayayi were enough to negate Johnny Juzang’s 29 points and Tyger Campbell’s 17 points for the Bruins.
Suggs is likely to enter the NBA Draft after this season, but wouldn’t he like to go out a champion? If anything has come from how many highlight reels he made in football and basketball, you can be assured that he isn’t satisfied just yet, and why would he not be. If he makes another highlight play against Baylor as he did to the Bruins, the internet just may explode.
