Dez Bryant just got hit with a 15-yard penalty after he delivered a late hit on Titans defensive back Malcolm Butler.
What in the world was Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Dez Bryant thinking on this play? With the Ravens and Titans locked in and tied at 10-10, tensions are most certainly running high between the two sides.
Well, Bryant took things to a new level, as he delivered an absolute cheap shot on Tennessee Titans defensive back Malcolm Butler. On the play, Butler got in some extra work on Bryant, who took exception to it. He decided to retaliate, though, and it cost his team 15 yards.
Dez Bryant’s late hit on Malcolm Butler did not make John Harbaugh happy at all
Bryant tried pleading his case, but he committed the bone-headed mistake right in front of the back judge. Seconds later, laundry was on the field and Baltimore lost 15 yards. Cameras zoomed in on John Harbaugh shortly after the flag was thrown and he was understandably shaking his head.
When Bryant made his way to the sideline, his head coach also made sure to let the veteran receiver know he simply can’t make those kind of idiotic mistakes. Baltimore was lucky in this instance, as it didn’t cost the team any points and the two squads entered the halftime break even at 10-10.
Still, Bryant has to know that he can’t put Baltimore at risk of giving up any points late in the half. Don’t be surprised if Bryant sees less action on the field in the second half because of this play. It was nothing short of absurd.
