Buccaneers vs. Washington first NFL playoff game to feature three women coaches.
History will be made on Saturday even before a winner is decided in the playoff game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Football Team and … spoiler alert … it has nothing to do with Tom Brady for once.
The playoff game will be the first-ever to feature three female coaches.
The Buccaneers will have Assistant Defensive Line coach Lori Locust and Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach Maral Javadifar. The Washington Football Team will have full-year coaching intern Jennifer King.
The three women were pictured together ahead of the historic moment
Locust and Javadifar are both in their second season with the team and King is in her first. The Washington Football Team categorizes King’s role with the team as follows.
“King will work with the offensive staff throughout the course of the offseason, training camp and regular season and will specifically assist Randy Jordan with the running backs.”
It’s been a big year for women in sports, specifically in NLF coaching positions. Just last month Callie Brownson became the first female positional coach in NFL history when she joined the Cleveland Browns tight ends coach Drew Petzing went on paternity leave.
