The singer, who had made the Top 24, allegedly forced his way into his ex’s home and hit her after she refused to let him see her child that he believes is his.
According to a statement provided by Cecil‘s ex, Mariah Lopez, she claims that after she refused to let him in her home, he then went to the back of the house, and ripped open a locked back door to get in.
Mariah added that Cecil then pushed her to the floor and “struck her in the face with a palm heel” before leaving.
Cecil was arrested a few days later in a neighboring town, and booked on burglary of habitation charges, which carry a second-degree felony in Texas. He was released the same day on $15,000 bond.
He had been eliminated from American Idol just last week.
