The NFL playoffs might be under way, but 18 picks have been cemented for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Sometimes the path to the postseason is harder than one can imagine. However, more often than not, fans have a clear indication on which direction their team is headed.
From the start of the season, everyone believed the Jacksonville Jaguars would be destined to win the No.1 pick. Although the New York Jets gave them a run, a string of wins to close out the season now has Jacksonville in line to take the first pick and the quarterback of their choosing.
The Jets will now be stuck with the No. 2 overall pick.
Attention turns to the Jaguars who now are on the clock. Ultimately, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence has proven he can win at any level. Although the Tigers fell short to Ohio State on Friday, Lawrence concluded his final season with over 3,000 passing yards and 24 touchdowns against five interceptions.
However, one would have to imagine should Urban Meyer be the hire in Duval County, could the Jags go with Justin Fields? Although a product of Ryan Day, Meyer’s system is similar to that of his former offensive coordinator. Against a top tier defense, Fields shocked the world, throwing for 385 yards and six touchdowns.
What of the remainder teams draft order?
With the Texans falling to the Titans, the Dolphins’ gamble of trading Laremy Tunsil pays off. They now will have a top-three selection, allowing them to either fix their receiving corp or offensive line to build around Tua Tagovailoa. Meanwhile, the Falcons could be looking to find their quarterback of the future with the No. 4 selection.
Detroit’s loss puts them in a prime position to start fresh with one of the top four names. A new head coach though will ultimately get that honor. Speaking of head coaches, Mike McCarthy likely will remain with the Cowboys, who currently holds the No.10 selection.
Thanks to the trade for Laremy Tunsil, the Dolphins now have clinched the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Miami’s loss the Dolphins took them out of the playoff picture, but it also means they’ll be the last pick before playoff teams at 10 wins on the season. And for those wondering, the Patriots will miss the postseason for the first time since 2008.
They now will own the No.15 selection. Listed below is the entire draft order heading into the 2021 offseason. The following order is assuming the Eagles lose to Washington on Sunday night.
